Common use cases
iPhone Recording to MP3
iPhone voice memos are saved as M4A, while some players and platforms only accept MP3. Converting to MP3 makes them playable and shareable on more devices.
Convert lossless music to MP3
FLAC sounds great but takes up space, and car stereos or sports players may not support it. Converting to 320kbps MP3 cuts the size by about 70% and improves compatibility.
Compress WAV recordings
Meeting, interview and podcast recordings are often WAV files, which are too large to send easily. Convert them to MP3 to share by email or chat.
Standardize audio formats
When clips come from different devices, convert them to one format before editing, merging or uploading to avoid compatibility problems.
Frequently Asked Questions
What audio formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A and AAC are supported for both input and output. The available encoders depend on your browser; desktop Chrome and Edge cover the most formats, and most mobile browsers can handle common conversions such as MP3 and WAV.
Will my files be uploaded to a server?
No. Decoding, conversion and export all happen locally in your browser. Your audio files are never uploaded to our servers or sent over the network. Temporary data is released by the browser when you close the page.
Does conversion reduce audio quality?
Converting to MP3, AAC or OGG is lossy, with bitrates from 64kbps to 320kbps. 256kbps is a good choice for everyday listening; choose 320kbps if quality matters. WAV, FLAC and M4A use lossless output or direct remuxing, so the audio is not compressed again.
Can I convert multiple files at once?
One file is processed at a time. When it finishes, click “Convert another” to continue with the next file. For large batches, use the batch video compressor to avoid repeating the steps.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The page works in mobile browsers and needs no app. In-app browsers (such as WeChat or Instagram) may block file downloads; if that happens, copy the link and open it in Chrome, Safari or another system browser.
What should I do if conversion fails?
First make sure the file plays normally, then try the latest version of Chrome or Edge. If your browser cannot decode the source audio, try a different output format; if it still fails, try another file to tell whether the problem is the file or the browser.
